The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Thursday the historic importance of the elections on Sunday, July 28, inviting the population to decide with “conscience and from the heart”.

In a message broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the Head of State said that election day is coming, “a historic day in which we have a commitment and a duty to decide with great conscience and from the heart for the Venezuela we dream of.”

From the Miraflores Palace, he recalled the task entrusted by Commander Hugo Chávez to guarantee the protection of Venezuelans, stressing from the presidential chair that this “belongs to the noble people of Venezuela”.

He indicated that the right wing occupied that chair for 168 years, with “a puppet and a puppet, a puppet and another puppet of the oligarchies were exchanged, but they always governed for the elites, for the political classes, for the privileged, for the oligarchies.”

He stressed that there were exceptions such as the great general Cipriano Castro, who defended the honor of Venezuela and its sovereignty, and the great general Isaías Medina Angarita. Then Hugo Chávez arrived, hand in hand with the People, the Spider-Man from Sabaneta, and here I am by the will of the People.”
