President Maduro officially inaugurates the “Viva Venezuela” World Festival

“The vaccine against the destruction of Western capitalism is our culture,” said the head of state

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Friday, May 10, officially inaugurated the “Viva Venezuela” World Festival, in a colorful and multitudinous event held at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium, which will end next Sunday, May 19.

“Today, this World Festival of our culture, of what is Venezuelan affirmative, of our values, of our identity and diversity is inaugurated,” he said.

In this regard, he emphasized that “in the face of the processes of deculturation and transculturization, we have the vaccine against the destruction of Western capitalism and the vaccine is our culture.”

Regarding the event, he said “today here is the Monumental Stadium in the hands of Venezuelan culture. This is the biggest concert ever held in national culture.”

He pointed out that the People will be able to enjoy the varied program of Festival activities that will take place in Caracas, and in the states of Miranda and La Guaira, “then we go all over the country, the culture shining in all the towns and neighborhoods of Venezuela.”

He described it as very exciting “to know that we are building a solid foundation of the country's national identity, of the spirituality of the country, that we are building the greatest thing a country can have: its culture, its traditions, its roots, its song, its poetry, its dances, its cultivators, its cultivators”.

The head of state said: “Happy afternoon Venezuela, long live Venezuela, long live culture, let the cultivators live. Afro-Venezuelan Day. Today José Leonardo Chirino Day (...) Today is the day of visual artists, long live Reverón, expressed when the Festival opened.
