The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, dismissed the statement of the Argentine president Javier Milei, who interfered with the decision of the head of state to decree the advance of Christmas.

“What does Milei have to do with Venezuela and Christmas? He is making life and Christmas bitter in Argentina. He feels bitter because the people of Venezuela start the rumba on October 1st,” he said.

“What we did was advance happiness, so Milei's imbecile comes out (...) Milei's imbecile in Argentina protesting that Maduro brought Christmas forward,” he said.

He stressed that “Milei is the one who beat grandparents, retirees, the one who suppresses mothers in the Plaza de Mayo and closes and ransoms universities. The same Milei, the only ruler of the world who has come out to support the bombing of hospitals and children's hospitals in Gaza.”

This was stated at the Bolivar Park Convention Center, located in La Carlota, where he presided over the 2nd one. Venezuela-Colombia Binational Tourism Exchange, where he said that it is an opportunity “to approve dozens of new projects that are going to improve, especially at the end of this year 2024, even more so when in Venezuela we have declared Christmas starting on October 1st.”

He also stressed that in view of the increase in tourist flow between Colombia and Venezuela, it is essential to promote investment by Colombians in the country, hotel investment, and added that the flow of tourists is greater from Colombia to Venezuela.
