President Maduro met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, received this Tuesday at the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, who was visiting the country as part of his tour of Latin America.

During the meeting, they rejected all the unilateral coercive measures imposed on both nations and also agreed on steps to strengthen bilateral cooperation in strategic areas.

Through his account on the social network X, the head of state said that he spoke with the Russian Foreign Minister “about the different areas of the bilateral relationship between our nations, reinforcing and strengthening the entire strategic map of comprehensive Russia-Venezuela cooperation. Unbreakable Brotherhood and Friendship”.

Lavrov's work schedule in Caracas included meetings with the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, and his Venezuelan counterpart , Yván Gil Pinto.

Caracas and Moscow share a solid bilateral relationship based on friendship and solidarity, developing extensively in strategic sectors. In particular, this alliance is expressed in multilateral platforms, where both nations have advocated articulating a more just multipolar world order, preserving the role of the United Nations (UN) and the supremacy of international law, and defending the principles of respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and equality among States.

At the same time, Venezuela and Russia are making efficient progress in the economic-commercial, scientific-technical and humanitary-cultural areas, prioritizing joint projects in the fields of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, medicine, education and culture, according to a press release from the Presidential Press.
