From Paseo Los Próceres, in Caracas, this Friday, July 5, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the civic-military parade for the 213th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence Day and Day of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

During his speech to kick off the activity, the Head of State emphasized that the “army of Liberators and Liberators was born as the most powerful army that ever existed, to blow the spine of the colonialist and genocidal imperial army that dominated Our America for 300 years”, in reference to the Spanish empire.

He pointed out that this is the same anti-colonialist Bolivarian National Armed Force, “which was born as a force with its weapons to confront the most powerful empire that existed for the time and to see it reduced to ashes at its feet.”

The President reiterated that this is the same Bolivarian National Armed Force of the general of the sovereign people Ezequiel Zamora, “who sang in the fields on his horse and carried his victorious sword and said: 'the capped sky announces a storm, oligarchs tremble, long live freedom'. This is the National Armed Forces of Bolivar, of Zamora, re-founded by our Commander Hugo Chávez to consolidate the new path of the 21st century towards comprehensive independence,” he emphasized.
