This Thursday, March 14, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, led the celebration for the Day of the Artisanal Fisherman and Aquaculturist celebrated in the state of Sucre.
The first national president participated in the 2024-2025 Sardine Season Blessing, together with 300 boats and more than 900 fishermen, fisherwomen, aquaculturists and aquaculturists.
The Head of State recalled that since 2010, the Day of the Artisanal Fisherman and the Fisherman has been celebrated in Venezuela, thanks to the decree issued on March 14 of that year, by Commander Hugo Chávez, to honor the men and women who are dedicated to this task and in 2021 - in the midst of a pandemic - he formalized it as the Day of the Artisanal Fisherman and Aquaculturist, including the Aquaculturists of the Homeland.“When the day came, it couldn't go unnoticed, even though we were in the midst of a pandemic taking care of our people. That day I had a broadcast with different passes to points in the national geography and there I decreed and converted March 14 by Fishing Law into the day of these honorable men and women,” he stressed.
