The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the role he played and how he became a leader, Jorge Rodríguez Sr., in the left-wing movements in the country during the Fourth Republic.
“He was a myth on the left and pointed out as a leader of the country, because of the country's charisma, character, intelligence and knowledge. Besides, he spoke (...) the language of the street, the common language,” said the National Executive in episode No. 6 of the Maduro Podcast.
In that sense, he recalled part of Rodríguez's great achievements just two years after the founding of the Socialist League. “It organized and prepared 1,500 leaders, cadres in the labor, peasant, student and feminist movement (...) at the top of their lungs,” she said.
In addition, she assured that Rodríguez Sr. was the one who founded the Feminist Movement in Venezuela.
“I am sure that if I had the perspective of a few more years, I am sure that I would have broken the ties of the imperialist-capitalist domination of Venezuela,” he said.
