This Monday, January 13, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recognized the role of the former Attorney General of the Republic, Julián Isaías Rodríguez Díaz, so that the Constitution of the Republic of 1999 will not be poisoned by any type of neoliberal vestige.

“It was not the few times that he saved the fundamental texts of the chapters that guarantee the social and labor rights of the people of Venezuela, from the same neoliberal maneuvers as today, some physically dead and others morally dead, who tried to twist the road and leave him poisoned by neoliberalism and privatization,” said the Head of State during the posthumous Homage to Isaías Rodríguez in the Federal Legislative Palace.

In this regard, he reaffirmed that it was the former prosecutor, who “saved the working class, the trade union movements and the people in general from having the rights that the People today have guaranteed in their Constitution; the right to work, to free and quality public health, to public education”.

He recalled that each of those social and labor rights contained today in the Constitution, “tried to be violated, twisted and poisoned by some of those who refused to comply with the order of Commander (Hugo) Chávez” to appoint Isaías Rodríguez president of the Senate for that time.
