The President of
the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated this Friday
the Day of Our Lady of Candlemas, from whom he asked for his guidance to continue on the path of
good.
“Mother and Lady,
Immaculate Virgin of Candlemas, today we thank you for your presence in
our lives; bless us and guide us with your light on the path of good;
grant us your humility, serenity and purity to be worthy of God's love.
Amen!” , wrote the head of state through his account on the social network
X.
In Venezuela, Candlemas Day is
celebrated in homage to the appearance of this
Marian invocation, which marks the end of the Catholic
cycle of purification in the calendar of traditional festivities, which begins on December 24.
On this day, “The
Vassals of Candelaria”, a brotherhood made up of promisers who have
offered their faith to the Virgin of Candlemas, perform a dance in
gratitude for the planting and harvesting of the year's harvest.
