The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recommended this Monday the book Mexican Bolivar, American Bolivar, by Sergio Rodríguez Gelfenstein and Ismael Hernández, regarding the Bicentenary of the Liberator's declaration as a citizen of the Aztec nation, on March 17, 1984.

“The peoples of Venezuela and Mexico were subject to the Spanish invasion at the end of the 15th century until the start of the Continental Revolution in 1810, where they would be linked to the struggle for independence, inequality and the search for union as part of the principles of distinguished Mexicans and the Liberator,” said the head of state through his account X.

He stressed that, “200 years later, the Mexican citizenship of Simón Bolívar is a symbol of the brotherhood that overcomes imperial oppression”, sharing the aforementioned text containing in 72 pages the history of the independence struggle of both nations.
