President Maduro holds meeting with China's International Trade Delegation

Venezuela and China established diplomatic relations more than four and a half decades ago

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, is holding a meeting this Wednesday with the representative of International Trade of China, Wang Shouwen.

In the delegation that accompanies the Deputy Minister of Commerce, is Lin Feng, Director General of Americas and Oceania Affairs; Li Yongjun, Deputy Director General of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation.

In addition, SunZhao, division director of the Department of Treaties and Law; WuJing, division director of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs; Xue Dong, secretary and Zhang Xiaoqing, deputy director of the Division of the Department of American and Oceanian Affairs; and the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, LanH u.

Earlier, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led the signing of the Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between the two nations.

In this regard, he noted that it constitutes an alliance “of great relevance for our country, so that Chinese companies have an investment regulatory framework and so that Venezuelan companies also have investment participation in China.”

The People's Republic of China and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela established diplomatic relations more than four and a half decades ago, and with the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by Commander Hugo Chávez, fraternal and cooperative ties were further strengthened.

Currently, under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, relations between the two countries continue to advance uninterruptedly towards the definitive construction of a multipolar world. Sino-Venezuelan friendly ties are based on the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, with a vision oriented to the future.

To date, numerous projects have been carried out in key areas such as energy, industry, infrastructure, housing, agriculture, science and technology, transportation, culture, trade, security and defense, evidencing the breadth and diversity of bilateral cooperation.
