President Maduro handed over the fully rehabilitated “Miguel Otero Silva” Educational Unit

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, made a call to defend free and quality education, during the delivery of the Bolivarian National Educational Unit “Miguel Otero Silva”, in Guarenas, Miranda state.

“We are delivering the educational package unit for the communities of Las Clavellinas,” he said.

The school was handed over by the Bolivarian Government, completely rehabilitated, following the interventions of the Military Community Brigades for Education and Health (BRICOMILES).

Referring to Miguel Otero Silva, who gives the study center its name, the head of state pointed out to the students the need to study the life of Otero, “a great revolutionary of journalism, poetry, literature and Venezuelan narrative.”

“He was a man who confronted North American imperialism, a man who was very close to Pablo Neruda, one of the greats of his time, García Marquez.”

He stressed that Otero Silva defended the right of the Fatherland to its sovereignty and that “he always dreamed of a free, sovereign Homeland, with a Venezuelan Revolution.”

“Honor and glory to Miguel Otero Silva, a great man of the Fatherland,” he said.
