The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the extremist opposition broke with the Barbados Agreement by being involved in the five recently unveiled conspiracies.

“Last year we seated the opposition and made them sign the Barbados Agreement, which is the architecture of our minds and hands,” he said.

This was stated, during the broadcast of episode number 6, of his weekly podcast “Maduro Podcast”, in which the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, was a guest.

Among the points of the above-mentioned Agreement, there is the fact that the extremist right definitively renounced any situation of violence. “We lead extremists to accept the text proposed by us that they renounce violence, that they respect legality, peace and that they collaborate so that Venezuela recovers,” he stressed.

He also considered it very difficult to “believe in people who in 25 years have always had a double agenda: the agenda of deception and the addendum of violence”.

For this reason, he asked: “Is this Barbados Agreement in force? (...) they even kicked off the Agreement for the defense of the Essequibo, which is a sacred cause for all Venezuelans.”

Despite the acts of violence, the head of state, assured that “no one or anything will separate us from the path of dialogue, from building consensus, we have built five powerful consensuses, we are going to maintain them, now on the basis of the five consensuses, we are proposing seven major transformations”.
