The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Friday all the opportunities he has called for dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition since his election in 2013.

“More than 300,” said the National Executive during the 6th edition of the Maduro Podcast.

In addition, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, confirmed that the Bolivarian Government has always called for dialogue and understanding.

“How many conversations haven't been done in secret with them? How many times haven't we talked? In the midst of the pandemic, you summoned them to lay their shoulders with this dreadful thing that is being thrown at us,” he recalled.

In addition, he indicated that the opposition has always disdained the dialogue efforts that have been proposed to maintain peace and stability in the country. “We had already reached an agreement, we were going to sign it on February 6, 2018 (...) we were ready and at that moment (Julio) Borges' phone rings and it says 'we're coming now'; then we knew it was a call from Rex Tillerson, US Secretary of State who was in Bogotá with Juan Manuel Santos and they said: 'don't sign that because we have another plan',” he said.

In this sense, the National President and the president of the AN pointed out that this other plan that imperialism and the opposition were talking about was the frustrating assassination of August 4, 2018.

In turn, Rodríguez specified that it was the former president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, together with Julio Borges, who directed the assassination of President Maduro.
