“Spain has not responded, the Spanish justice system, the King of Spain are complacent silence in the face of the murderers of Orlando Figuera back in Spain, a complicit silence the King, the President of Spain and the Judiciary of Spain keep a complicit silence”.

The words correspond to the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who reported that the Spanish justice system has not responded to the request for extradition of those involved in the murder of the young Orlando Figuera, which occurred in May 2017.

In 2019, Franchini was arrested in Spain and the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) declared his extradition appropriate. In 2020, the Criminal Chamber of the National High Court of the Kingdom of Spain declared the extradition of Enzo Franchini to be judicially appropriate.

However, after an appeal, extradition is refused on the grounds that Franchini's human rights were being violated.
