Through the social network X, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, extended his congratulations to the National Assembly (AN) for the approval in the second discussion of the Bill on the Protection of Social Security Pensions.

“I congratulate the National Assembly, which unanimously approved in the second discussion the Bill for the Protection of Social Security Pensions, in the face of the Imperialist Blockade. Let's continue to make progress in establishing prosperous mechanisms to provide our grandparents with more protection and well-being,” wrote the Head of State on the social network.

The Social Security Pension Protection Act against the Imperialist Blockade aims to establish mechanisms to protect pensioners negatively impacted by unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States Government and its European allies.

Among the fundamental aspects of the law, it stands out that default interest can be generated due to the non-payment of the special contribution within the established deadline. In this case, by full right and without the need for prior request from the Tax Administration, there is an obligation to cancel these interests, in accordance with the provisions of the Constituent Decree by which the Organic Tax Code is issued.
