Nicolás Maduro commemorated this Tuesday the third anniversary of the
beatification of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández.
“3 years ago, Dr. José Gregorio
Hernández, “Doctor of the Poor”, became the first
lay blessed in Venezuela, getting closer and closer to holiness in recognition
of his simplicity, modesty, humanity and his life of selfless service for the poor and the helpless,” wrote the head
of state.
The president
's publication was accompanied by audiovisual material highlighting
the virtues of the “Doctor of the Poor” and described him as a “civil and scientific leader”.
