The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, commemorated 203 years since Maracaibo's declaration of independence from the Spanish Empire.

“He proclaimed himself free of Spain and embraced the independence cause, an event that allowed the Bolivarian project to advance and meant the preamble to Carabobo's immortal feat,” said the Head of State through the social network X.
