This Wednesday, October 30, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, pointed out that the smear campaign that was deployed by the major international media and social networks against Venezuela has had the opposite effect that the creators were looking for, awakening the interest of tourists from all over the world who choose to visit the country to learn about reality.
“Venezuela attracts attention and people who have common sense, the vast majority rather this campaign awakens natural sympathy and solidarity,” he said.
He pointed out that during his travels “I see him in the streets, I have seen him for example, in the streets of Cairo, in Doha, in Algiers, Kazan, in Moscow, Shanghai, many times I have seen him, the natural sympathy of simple people who walk in the streets when they greet you or when you hear the word: Venezuela, they made us fashionable,” he said.
In this regard, he reiterated that Venezuela “is in fashion in the world, let's take advantage of that interest” and urged us to promote plans and strategies for cultural, socio-political and historical tourism in the country.
“After people come, they are impressed by the peace, tranquility and beauty of the Venezuelan human being, and the natural beauty that we have. They fall in love with Venezuela,” he said at the Humboldt Hotel, located in the Warairarepano Cable Car Tourist Complex, where he led the presentation of the National Tourism Award, in its 3rd Edition 2024.
When referring to historical tourism, he stressed that Venezuela is the cradle of the Liberators, so it is necessary to build the historic route, since in any region of the country, “a great battle was fought there, there was Bolívar, José Félix Ribas, Francisco de Miran da”.
“Sucre was born in Cumana, in the Orinoco, Colombia was founded there, in Táchira, where the Admirable Campaign began, if we go to Mérida, there they declared Bolivar Liberator for the first time, and Caracas is the cradle of many Liberators: from Bolívar, Simon Rodríguez, Andrés Bello,” he said.
