This Saturday, October 12, the President
of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, made a call to strengthen and consolidate the communal
power of the indigenous peoples of our country, with the objective of
maintaining greater organization.
In addition, during a telephone contact at
the March commemorating the Day of Indigenous Resistance, he urged the
Minister for Indigenous Peoples, Clara Vidal, to consolidate and rescue
institutes that promote the study of original languages.
“Because in language, in language, there is the
worldview and continuity of the culture of our root, of our original root,
of the true owners of these lands,” he emphasized.
He also called for the consolidation of all housing and health
plans for indigenous communities in Venezuela.
At the same time, he indicated that indigenous youth should be organized in
communal circuits; as well as the Bolivarian National Militia with the indigenous people.
“Well organized, disciplined and well armed to defend our land from trying to harm peace and coexistence,” he said.
