From the Miraflores Palace
, in a meeting with the Bolivarian National Militia that marched
through the streets of Caracas to commemorate the 194th anniversary of the passage to
immortality of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, the president of the
Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, praised the legacy of the Father of the Fatherland this Tuesday and stressed that his ideals remain valid.
“On a day like today,
we said goodbye to the greatest, to whom he gave all he had, his body, his life,
even his wealth because he was born in this city in the cradle of gold but
he gave up all his wealth for the freedom of the peoples of America, and on a day
like today 194 years ago, the good soul of the peoples freed by his sword
was moved as the news of Father
Libertador's death ran down the streets, but he didn't die, he remained vigilant,” said the Head of State.
In this regard,
he pointed out that the “bright sun of this afternoon in Caracas reminds us that Bolívar's ideal
and strength today shines brighter than ever in his cradle, in Venezuela, Bolivarian
Venezuela”, and he assured that the Liberator “woke the people up to never go back to sleep,
never to let themselves be betrayed again, he woke up the people of Bolívar forever.”
The Dignitary
emphasized that Bolívar became “a worker, a worker, a worker, a soldier, a militiaman,
a militia member.”
