President Maduro: Bolivarian Government is deployed acting in real time due to rains in Sucre

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that the Bolivarian Government is deployed acting in real time in the face of rains in Sucre and coordinating with the regional government, community councils and circuits, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the REDI Oriental, ZODI Sucre and Civil Protection.

He assured that “we are attending in real time, at the end of this event, we are going straight to the Presidential Command Post to continue taking appropriate actions for the Town of Cumanacoa, Montes municipality.”

“I recently sent the colleague Delcy Rodríguez with the vice-presidents of the Government so that the People of Cumanacoa, “have all the support and the certainty that we will overcome this one too, as we did in Tovar, in Tejerías.”

He specified that since 04:00am, he has been monitoring the difficult situation that occurred in Cumanacoa in Sucre, providing an overview of the rains caused by the passage of hurricane Berly.

“It's a persistent, continuous, very strong rain, as a result of these hurricanes that are forming. Tropical Wave 17, which entered between Saturday and Sunday, came together with Hurricane Berly, which passed very close to the East of the country, and the backflow filled all those mountains with water,” he explained.

The balance was offered at the Teresa Carreño Theater, on the occasion of the National Meeting of the 5 Generations and 7 Forces, where at first he apologized for having arrived late for this event, since he was dealing with the emergency that occurred in Sucre.

In this regard, he said that this Tuesday, July 2, he will receive the definitive report on the material damage caused by the rains in Cumanacoa. “How many houses affected, how many houses can be recovered, how many houses need to be built, as we did in Tejerías, in record time,” he added.

According to information provided by the Minister of People's Power for Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, President Maduro stressed that “eighty percent of the electricity service that was exhausted had recovered.”

He also said that the Minister of Popular Power for Food, Carlos Leal Tellería, “is sending water and food to the People of Cumanacoa.”
