The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recognized this Thursday the work of plastic artists in the development of the country's culture and in the recovery of spaces for art.

During the inauguration of the 66th edition of the Arturo Michelena Hall, in Carabobo state, the Head of State urged “reinforcing the country's historical memory in all its wide and wonderful diversity”.

“My recognition to all the artists who have been incorporated into that tremendous work that exists in Maracaibo, in Zulia, and throughout Venezuela, in this Arturo Michelena Hall and the museums and all the work that needs to be done with art is a force of the soul, of identity, something that transcends beyond what can sometimes be seen, even doing from the perspective of spirituality,” he said.

He stressed that “if there is anything that a truly free and democratic society should have, it is that all its diversity is expressed and in diversity we can find the greatest thing we can have: identity. Our identity is diverse.”
