President Maduro: ALBA was born against neoliberalism and capitalism

“The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA) was born 20 years ago as an alliance of progressive, revolutionary, popular governments throughout our America against neoliberalism and capitalism, it was uniting Peoples and Governments throughout all these years (...) The work of our two Commanders Chávez and Fidel.” This is how the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, began his words during the installation ceremony of the XXIII ALBA-TCP Summit.
He specified that “we had a private meeting (one of the best I've ever been to) with brilliant, lucid, stellar interventions from Presidents and Prime Ministers. It is 20 years since the birth of our alliance and 200 years of the Campaign for the Liberation of Peru from the battles of Junín and Ayacucho, which were the definitive ones for the liberation of Latin America from the Spanish Empire after 300 years of massacre, slavery and racism.”
He added that “our America 200 years later remains rebellious, lucid, willing to fight, thirsty for justice and independence and ready to conquer its new paths of happiness, prosperity in progress as a region of peace, independent and sovereign.”
