The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that against all odds “we have respected Venezuela, our idiosyncrasy, identity, lineage, and name.”

He argued that Venezuela is currently respected and admired in the world, “we shut up the mouths of the imperialist spokespersons, the surnames.”

“Today, July 5, we can say mission accomplished, the Homeland is at peace, we have preserved the most precious asset that Bolívar and Chávez left us, the Fatherland is sovereign and independent,” he said.

This was expressed from the Urimare parish, in the Vargas municipality of the state of La Guaira, where he made the fourth broadcast of Repent's Con Maduro program and from the Radio Urimare 101.1 FM radio station, recently awarded the National Journalism Award, located in the socialist commune Comandante Hugo Chávez.

He stated that the Bolivarian Government has preserved its intention to strengthen a democracy for the 21st century, “since we believe that the bourgeois democracy of the 20th century is exhausted.”
