President Maduro: 2024 was one of democratic consolidation and peace

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated the People for their participation in the elections of the Justices of the Peace, and in this way, stressed that the year 2024 was one of the consolidation of democracy and peace in the country.

“Congratulations on this beautiful day today. I congratulate all the communal circuits, all the neighbors. At this time people are still voting and I congratulate in advance all the judges who have been elected. A historic day, judges are elected with the vote of the people, a tremendous way to celebrate 25 years of the Constitution; I am very happy. Today we have a new demonstration that certifies and seals our progress on the right side of history, step by step with direct popular vote. The Justices of the Peace will be a powerful institution for the neighbors of the community, of modern humanist democracy and of Venezuelan socialism,” stressed the Head of State.

He assured that this election is a settled debt for the Venezuelan people. “The narrative that moves us is the people mobilized in the streets, building, participating. Whoever wants to talk about democracy, let them go to the streets to talk to people; we are building a new, direct, popular, modern democracy of the 21st century, a new society. With the Q7 plan, we are going to accelerate quality democracy,” added the president.

He assured that the national government is “the greatest guarantee of peace in the country, of democracy and true freedom, of the construction of a new political model of their own””, while maintaining that the sowers of hate, through social networks, will be able to say a thousand things, but young people in the community know that they can participate and decide.

On the other hand, he took the opportunity to thank Commander Hugo Chávez Frías for being the forerunner and promoter of the country's Popular Constituent Process. He also added that the election of justices of the peace will be “an impetus for what people want; peace and quiet.”

For his part, the Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, indicated that there was an electoral holiday on December 15.

“These elections will generate greater communication between the community, they will summon and advise them to prevent problems and for peace to reign. We are preparing for 2025,” he said.

The president of the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, Tania D'Amelio, also stressed that a training plan has been prepared that begins the first 15 days of the month of January 2025, to train Judges and Justices of the Peace throughout the national territory.
