The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Nicolás Maduro, launched this Tuesday the Trabuco Plan of the Local Supply and Production
Committees (CLAP), with the delivery of 10,000 production
kits throughout the national territory.
During his participation in the event for the 8th Anniversary
of the CLAP, in the state of Guárico, the head of state stated that any
community “can have its obstacles, because we have to turn all CLAP
into productive CLAP, we agree. The Productive Trabuco Kit is born,” he said.
The Minister of Urban Agriculture, Jhoanna Carrillo, said
that this initiative emerged from the debate on the seven transformations (7T) necessary
for the country, due to “the need to leverage the country's CLAP with tools, supplies and
technical support”.
Carrillo explained that the word trabuco comes from a concept
of a weapon from the independence era, but in Venezuelan slang it is
used to say that it is the best team the team. “That's why the CLAP is
linked here with the Ministry of Urban Agriculture and the Great Agro
Venezuela Mission and the Ministry of Food because you have to provide
technical support so that you have basic tools,” he said.
The minister indicated that the goal is to reach 27,000
productive CLAP this year, of the 46,000 that exist in the country, detailing that the kits have
“a fertilizer, seeds, for example it has chard, chili pepper and
eggplant, but we have determined by the climatic floor of the area, that is, by the state of the area comes the bag with its support seeds”.
