On the afternoon of this Friday, November 6, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, met with representatives of the country's motor sector in order to reach coexistence agreements with them.

The meeting was attended by members of the national motorcycle union, as well as students, workers and representatives of transport lines that use this type of vehicle.

The spokespersons asked the President for the possibility of having insurance to help them cover economic expenses in the event of an accident, while calling for the creation of training courses “so that young people do not continue to lose their lives on the asphalt”.

For his part, Randinel Rojas, a motorized chemical engineering student at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV), pointed out that as part of the motorized guild that moves “every day this country” he knows what it's like to leave a classroom to work on two wheels. “The motorcycle is not just a means of transport, it is the tool that finances our career,” he said.

Rojas proposed the creation of a strategic alliance between State, university and transport sector that would allow the creation of a two-wheeled student mobility grant (subsidised incentive for the maintenance of motorcycles): Preferential credits for working youth and “as a commitment on the part of motorized students to be part of plans for road education in the country”.
