In Venezuela, elections will be held, when the People and their institutions determine that the time is right, as part of the political dialogue that is taking place in the country, emphasized the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

“In this direction, we have initiated a political dialogue with the opposition that will lead to a process on equal terms for all. The Venezuelan people, with their ancient wisdom, will determine the right time and their institutions will be prepared to guarantee that inclusive and transparent process. A country that is not subject to economic restrictions of any kind to guarantee its right to development,” said the Head of State during her participation in the UN General Assembly.

In this regard, the President emphasized that electoral processes must serve to generate solutions and not to generate irreconcilable conflicts.” Venezuela will guarantee real conditions of participation for all political forces in the country. Democracy is not measured by the existence of elections, democracy is measured by the quality of the competition that precedes those elections,” he stressed.

In this regard, he pointed out that Venezuela must abandon the path that allowed extremism and intolerance to prevail over democratic and peaceful coexistence.
