A total of 490 families, affected by the double earthquake, will benefit from the rehabilitation of four buildings in the Pórtico del Ávila Residences, located in the parish of San Bernardino, in Caracas, where construction teams are carrying out work as part of the Venezuela Renace Plan.
The president of the Great Mission Venezuela Renace, Jacqueline Faria, together with the president of the Together Everything Is Possible Corporation, Aníbal Coronado, verified the progress of the works, which cover four towers with 124 apartments each. During the visit, they verified the quality of the finishes and compliance with the guidelines developed by the Presidential Commission for the Evaluation of Infrastructure Habitability.
Faria stressed that the State is committed to this task and recognized the work done by the partner company. “The entire State set to work on this task and today we are here accompanying the corporation Together Everything Is Possible, which has specifically focused on responding to communities; in this case, four buildings in this urban area, with 124 apartments each, for a total of 490 families served,” he said.
The official, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), congratulated the engineers for the quality of the finishes and for the rigorous application of the presidential commission's manual. “That commission has said what to do in each type of fissure, and here we have just confirmed it: they are applying the manual as it should be,” he said.
For his part, Coronado highlighted that the team worked hand in hand with the residents, including an engineer who supported the initial evaluation, and detailed the situation of the towers: “From a structural point of view, we can say that they behaved excellently. However, the double earthquake was so strong that, of course, masonry was damaged in the San Bernardino area, especially from the ground floor to the sixth floor. We have seven weeks planned for each tower.”
