Amidst tears of emotion and applause, families who resided in the José Gervasio Artigas Transitional Camp (Propatria) received the keys to their new apartments in the Mirador de Caiza urban development, located in Los Valles del Tuy, Miranda state.
The delivery is part of the Bolivarian Government's response through the Venezuela Renace Plan, designed to provide a definitive housing solution to those who lost their homes after the earthquakes of last June 24.
During the activity, the head of the Camp, Coromoto Becerra, general manager of Banking Socialization and Social Responsibility manager of the Treasury Bank, addressed the new owners:
“From day one, we opened the doors of the Camp to give them shelter and accompany them. Today, thanks to Plan Venezuela Renace, they begin a new chapter here, in the Mirador de Caiza, with the peace of mind of having their own home.”
The homes delivered surprised everyone by having basic household equipment, in order to facilitate the immediate move of the beneficiaries:
The Patiño-Durán family, made up of Lusmey Patiño and Daniel Durán, together with their 5 children, expressed gratitude when they received their equipped house. “We feel profoundly blessed. This literally represents a new rebirth for our family,” said Lusmey.
María Fernanda Romero, another happy owner, said: “After the tragedy, we learned to value life, solidarity and those who accompanied us for these three months. Today, finally, we will sleep under a secure roof that belongs to us, thanks to God and to this initiative of the Bolivarian Government.”
The Venezuela Renace Plan keeps its teams deployed to advance the progressive relocation of the rest of the affected families and guarantee them decent housing.
To date, President Delcy Rodríguez has delivered more than 1,800 homes through this initiative. During the most recent day, 607 rehabilitated homes were granted in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira.
