Peru: Prosecutor's Office Accused Dina Boluarte of Illicit Enrichment

The Peruvian Public Prosecutor's Office ordered the initiation of a preliminary investigation against President-designate Dina Boluarte for alleged illicit enrichment after being accused of not having declared ownership of several luxury watches, including a Rolex, in official documents.

Through its X account, the Peruvian Public Ministry reported that the opening of preliminary proceedings against Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, who was appointed president of the Republic in December 2022, for the alleged commission of the crime of illicit enrichment and the omission of declarations in documents, related to the use of Rolex watches.

Telesur explained that according to a report published on March 14, the Peruvian president would own a luxurious collection of up to 14 watches, most notably a Rolex valued at 14,000 dollars.
