October 8, 1895 marks the birth of one of Argentina's most important political figures, Juan Domingo Perón, leader of the National Justicialist Movement that brought the workers to power.

Juan Domingo Perón's progressive ideas continue to inspire Argentines and the peoples of Latin America as they commemorate 123 years since his birth. Its democratic spirit and its fight for workers' rights continue in force in the South American nation.

He was one of the most important figures in the political history of Argentina. During his three presidential terms, Perón constituted himself as the defender of the working class through wage improvements, reduced working hours, compensation for layoffs, establishment of social security, paid holidays, dismissal law and retirement, TELESUR reported.

At the age of 13, he entered the National Military College and obtained the rank of second lieutenant of the Infantry. At the beginning of the 1940s, he became one of the leaders of the Group of United Officers (GOU), giving numerous conferences on political and military issues.

With the coming to power of the group, Perón found his place in the Secretary of Labor in the world to change history in favor of workers. He then came to the position of Minister of War, and later vice-president.

In October 1945, sectors of the bourgeoisie and imperialism sought to dismiss him, an objective that was prevented by a massive workers' mobilization that forced him to be re-established in the government. Perón became the greatest leader of the bourgeois nationalist movement that would govern Argentina between 1946 and 1955, until the coup of the Shooting Revolution promoted by North American imperialism and sectors of the bourgeoisie.
