Pedro Infante: My recognition and standing applause for Cortéz who completed the CAF 2024 Marathon

The first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Deputy Pedro Infante, highlighted the perseverance and sportsmanship of the elderly Alfonso Cortéz, who completed the 42 kilometers of the eighth edition of the CAF 2024 Marathon that took place in the city of Caracas last Sunday.

“My recognition and standing applause for this champion athlete,” Infante emphasized through the social network X while sharing a video of the man reaching the finish line with the tricolor in his hand. “It stole everyone's attention this weekend,” he added.

Cortéz, 84 years old and a native of the state of Táchira, demonstrated his example and courage at one of the most important sporting events in Venezuela and Latin America and the Caribbean, in which more than 5,500 runners participated.
