PDVSA held the First Meeting of Women in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries

The state oil company Petrleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), held the First Meeting of Women in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industry in Venezuela, at which debates were held regarding gender equity and women's empowerment.

In its account on the social network X, PDVSA reported that the activity took place at the facilities of the Simón Bolívar Auditorium of the Ministry of People's Power of Petroleum in Caracas.

In the message, the state company attached a video, in which it states that during his speech, the Minister of Popular Petroleum Power, Pedro Rafael Tellechea, stated that it was an honor for him to participate in that meeting.

“I think this is the first time in the entire history of the industry that we have been able to reach an agreement between all women's movements to reach a consensus, to make a single movement of women in the oil industry, that is, to guarantee unity to move forward,” she said.

He said that “I congratulate all of you, on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who is our country's candidate to guarantee the growth of the nation.”

He also stressed that all must be united, as is the Venezuelan oil industry, to guarantee the growth of the state company, as well as its workers. “We must celebrate these spaces for debates that allow us to define proposals for the revival of the oil, gas and petrochemical industries,” he said.

For her part, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), María León, pointed out that the 25 years of the Bolivarian Revolution have become a period in the history of the country, in which the greatest progress has been made in the inclusion of women, “our feminism is egalitarian, equitable, proper, real and constitutional,” she said.
