Parliamentarians from Venezuela and Colombia will promote a meeting between governors of the binational border

The Accidental Commission for the Monitoring and Restoration of Diplomatic and Commercial Relations between Venezuela and Colombia, agreed to promote a meeting of the governors of the Colombian-Venezuelan border.

This was reported this Tuesday by Colombian senator Gloria Flórez, from the Boyacá room of the House of Representatives, in Bogotá, where parliamentarians from both countries held a joint session.

To conclude the meeting, as reported by the National Assembly in a press release, the senator explained that regional border authorities urgently requested the meeting.

In this regard, Flórez said that the legislative powers will promote and coordinate it.

It was also agreed to hold a joint session of this accidental parliamentary committee in Venezuela. For this reason, Flórez requested to manage the petition before the president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, deputy Jorge Rodríguez.

He indicated that another established agreement was to create a communication mechanism between legislative powers to review and monitor cases of human rights violations that occur on the border of Venezuela and Colombia.

He also reported that the Accidental Commission for the Monitoring and Restoration of Diplomatic and Commercial Relations between Venezuela and Colombia will meet, at the headquarters of the National Assembly (AN), in December 2024.

Senator Flórez said that they will hold a virtual meeting to evaluate human trafficking, and especially against adolescent children and women subjected to prostitution; the sale of organs and Colombian-Venezuelan family ruptures.
