Parliamentarians from Venezuela and Colombia defined the issues they will address in the upcoming meeting with Colombian senator Gloria Flórez, said Deputy Julio Chávez, this Tuesday, March 19, from the Federal Legislative Palace.

In a press release, published on the AN website, Chávez, who chairs the Venezuela-Colombia Parliamentary Friendship Group (GAP), explained that this meeting is part of the multiple activities that, by consensus, they will promote during this parliamentary term.

The deputy specified that it is intended to exchange feminist ideas with women parliamentarians, to address the reach of workers' social movements, as well as to deal with academic and scientific issues, where the president of the Second Constitutional Commission of the Colombian Congress, Senator Flórez, would assume an important role in the construction and consolidation of relations between the two nations.

Chávez assured that, being on the verge of the Presidential Elections, these activities will significantly contribute to the achievement of new and fruitful relations, proposed by both leaders in accordance with the agreements previously signed between sister nations.

“It is essential to make up for time after the interruption caused by the governments that preceded the Historical Pact, which mismanaged the advance of friendly relations with the sister Bolivarian country for a long time,” he said.

To this end, Chávez announced that by leading this activity with the vice-president of the instance, deputy Luis Augusto Romero, the deputies, Juan Romero Jiménez and the deputy Asia Villegas Poljak, will support the meeting.
