The National Assembly (AN) approved this Wednesday the request for authorization for the absence of Dr. Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, outside the national territory, in order to fulfill her work schedule in New York City, United States.
The request was presented by Deputy Tania Díaz, who highlighted the popular support that accompanies the president in her participation in the 81st General Assembly of the United Nations (UN). “The streets of our country are full of beautiful people marching in support of the first female president of the Republic, who today raises her courageous and dignified voice before the concert of nations,” she said.
Díaz stressed that the demonstration represents support for institutions and peace diplomacy. “This demonstration not only means respect for our institution, for our laws, for our Republic, but it is also a triumph of Bolivarian peace diplomacy,” he said, stressing that “Venezuela has no war, it does not want war” and that more than 90% of Venezuelans are committed to dialogue and consensus.
The parliamentarian recalled that President Rodríguez was sworn in on January 5 and that her administration has been marked by the defense of the People and the Republic. “I ask the Venezuelan people to review, nine months later, what we have achieved and how much that promise has been fulfilled,” said Díaz, while reiterating his support to the president to be the spokesperson for the Venezuelan people at the UN.
