This Sunday, March 31, the traditional Sea Blessing Mass was held on several beaches in the country, with a wide participation of parishioners from each region.

At the conference, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the parishioners gathered to celebrate this ancient custom with 162 years of history, which commemorates the resurrection of Jesus and sanctifies the waters near the coasts, in addition to the men and women of the sea.

In this sense, in Venezuela this religious practice was experienced in the state of Carabobo, where parishioners met in Marina Punta Brava, Puerto Cabello municipality, to participate in the blessing of the sea, as well as in the Vargas municipality, in La Guaira.

The celebration was also held on the coasts and coasts of the Aurora sector, located in the municipality of Los Taques in the state of Falcón and in the town of Ocumare de la Costa in Aragua; Margarita Island in Nueva Esparta, among many other tourist locations nationwide, which took advantage of Easter Sunday to bless the Venezuelan ocean.

Regarding this tradition, the governor of the state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, through his account on the social network Instagram, highlighted the importance of this tradition rooted in the heart of every Carabobo.

“Today we celebrate the Blessing of the Sea in Puerto Cabello, a 162-year-old tradition to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and bless the waters of our shores. Happy Easter to everyone! Nobody gives up here,” he said.
