Panamanians were suppressed by police forces at a demonstration

Last Friday, in Panama, the people mobilized in rejection of the reform of the Social Security Fund, for which reason they were brutally repressed by the police and at least 12 demonstrators were deprived of their liberty.
One of those arrested was the teacher leader Alberto Díaz, and the leader Matías de León is listed as one of the Protestants who have been prosecuted. Other demonstrators were brought before justices of the peace and released during the day.
Several arrests of demonstrators have been reported in the interior of the country. It also mentions young people who have been severely repressed, since they have protested throughout the week at the Transismic, in front of the University of Panama.
The United People's Alliance for Life released a report claiming that the demonstration was satisfactory, given that 99 percent of construction work has been suspended.
The uniformed personnel who took over the Children's Hospital and a neighboring public one (Santo Tomás) to intimidate the demonstrators, with the use of tear gas, which also affected patients.
