Palestinian Health Ministry confirms polio epidemic in the Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that there was a polio epidemic in the Gaza Strip, which “represents a threat to the health of the population and neighboring countries.”
The information was released in a statement calling for “immediate intervention to put an end to the aggression and find a radical solution” to the problems of scarcity of drinking water and personal hygiene products.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently warned of the high risk of the polio virus spreading in this war zone due to poor sanitary conditions that could quickly spread around the world.
In addition, Palestinian health authorities indicated that thousands of refugees in camps are at risk of contracting the highly contagious disease that causes deformities and paralysis, the HISPANTV news agency reported.
