PAHO delivered more than 17 million retrovirals to Venezuela

The supplies will be stored in the robotic warehouses of the Ministry of Health for subsequent distribution around the country

Venezuela received more than 17.4 million units of retrovirals, of different concentrations and types, to guarantee care for patients with HIV/ AIDS and Tuberculosis, said Jesús Brito, the Deputy Minister of Supplies, Technology and Regulation of the Ministry of People's Power for Health.

Through a video published by the Vice President for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, in her X account, Brito explained that these supplies will be stored in the robotic warehouses of the Ministry of Health for subsequent distribution around the country.

For his part, the representative of the Pan American Health Organization and World Health Organization in Venezuela, Cristián Morales, emphasized that the arrival of these drugs will serve to treat 100% of patients with HIV.

Jiménez emphasized that this endowment is possible thanks to the joint work between the health portfolio and the Pan American Health Organization.

In the message, he noted that “the sustained technical work of @MinSaludVE, prioritizing the needs of the country's patients, makes it possible to overcome the difficulties caused by unilateral coercive measures, as guided by President @ NicolasMaduro, we must guarantee the greatest possible care and well-being for the people”.
