Padrino López to the FANB: I invite you not to faint in the face of difficulties

The Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, called on all members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces not to faint in the face of difficulties and to move forward in achieving the objectives set for this institution.

In a statement, on the occasion of the 214 years since the founding of this office, the senior official Castrence exalted the commitment, mysticism and vocation of our soldiers who undertake their daily work with the noble purpose of safeguarding the sacred interests of the Venezuelan people.

214 years ago, the first military institution of the Captaincy General of Venezuela was founded, which emerged from the events of April 19, 1810: the Secretariat of War and the Navy. This organization, which in the long line of historical development acquired the figure of the Ministry of Popular Power for Defense, currently represents the highest administrative and organizational body of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, responsible for controlling and evaluating its policies, strategies, plans and projects, in frank correspondence with the constitutional functions established in the Magna Carta.

Today, an army of men and women inspired by the glories of the liberators, we assume, with a deep sense of patriotic commitment, the reins of this portfolio, clearly defined in its Bolivarian, revolutionary and anti-imperialist character. Hence, may it be a true honor to be able to lead it, undertaking actions of civic-military integration that guarantee the Integral Defense of the Nation, and that now focus in a special way, on the development of the 7 Transformations, contributing to national development and the inexhaustible search to achieve definitive independence.

On this new anniversary, it is appropriate to exalt the commitment, mysticism and vocation of service of those who, equipped with conscience and attached to the guidelines of our Commander in Chief Nicolás Maduro Moros, undertake their daily work with the noble purpose of safeguarding the sacred interests of the Venezuelan people. I congratulate them and invite them not to faint in the face of difficulties, to keep the morale and loyalty that characterizes us very high, in order to promote the achievement of the objectives set out. Let's stay united! ... And let us continue to move forward with firm steps in the fight to preserve and defend the freedom, sovereignty and independence of this great Nation.
