The Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) categorically repudiated the imposition of Unilateral Coercive Measures against 16 authorities of the country, including officers and admirals of the FANB

This was stated by the Minister of Defense, G/J Vladimir Padrino López, who stressed that North American imperialism, once again, has used the extortion mechanism of Unilateral Coercive Measures to try to affect those who, acting in defense of the inalienable rights of the people, re-established peace in the country after the extreme right launched a coup d'etat after the presidential election of last July 28.

In this regard, he pointed out that threats, false media campaigns, or sanctions would succeed in intimidating the men and women who make up the military institution. “They believe that we have a price, they believe that with these Unilateral Coercive Measures they will undermine the patriotic, Bolivarian spirit of loyalty to the Fatherland of this FANB,” he stressed.

In the same way, he stressed that US imperialism never tires of applying tests in Venezuela to try to put an end to the Bolivarian Revolution. “We are not going to give up, we are not going to give up. Here there is a struggle between the Fatherland, sovereignty and neo-colonialism and fascism,” he stressed.

On the other hand, he recalled that on July 29, after the presidential elections, the right wing launched a plan of “guarimberal and neofascist” violence using cyber sabotage against the electoral system as an excuse. “All this was carried away in a matter of hours by the will of the people of Venezuela, because the people, beyond voting for their candidate, voted for the consensus of peace,” he stressed.

Also, the senior military official, in statements made this Monday, read a statement repudiating the actions of imperialism. The above-mentioned text was also endorsed by the commanders of the 8 Strategic Regions for Integral Defense (REDI) that make up the country's Territorial Defensive System.

“Everyone can count on the indomitable strength of the soldiers of Bolivar and Chávez. We are not blackmailed nor do we allow ourselves to be blackmailed by the imperial scourge. We remain, in perfect civic-military union, attentive to any type of threat against the freedom, independence and sovereignty of the nation,” he said, while stressing that the FANB will maintain peace in the country at every step.
