Opposition sectors that live in the National Assembly highlighted the need for a response within the framework of democracy to the unhealthy intentions of the United States government to subject the Venezuelan people to greater hardship through economic sanctions or a possible military invasion, as planned in 2020 during the administration of Donald Trump.
In this regard, the President of the Foreign Policy Committee of the AN, Timoteo Zambrano, called for accelerating the construction of political dialogue to resolve the political conflict through an electoral process so that the People can face together any threat of imperialism.
The Secretary General of Cambiemos assured that the United States is trying to create, through its threats and in alliance with the Venezuelan violent extreme right, an internal political climate of conflict that will allow them to carry out the mission of invading Venezuela this year or in 2025.
“That being the case, we have to find unity, consensus and all be in a State policy, prepare the country for that, a dialogue is necessary that solves the electoral problem, but based on other factors, for example the economic factor, public services and not based on the conflict, because we overcame that with the 2019 agreement,” said the opposition leader.
In the same vein, the National Secretary General for Democratic Action, Bernabé Gutiérrez, supported the proposal to draw up and propose to the National Electoral Council (CNE) an electoral schedule so that “it is the people who choose their course”.
He also condemned the plans of the extreme right wing María Corina Machado, for asking the U.S. government to intercede to “strangle the country” and cause discomfort, hardship and hunger to the people.
“They took away our gold license, and that power threatens us on account of what, of also taking away our license for oil, and gas. This is a harm to the country through sanctions they take away the bread of the Venezuelan people,” he said.
Deputy Adeco denounced that “the extreme right will seek to continue creating chaos in the electoral campaign”.
