The opposition leader Enrique Márquez went to the headquarters of the National Electoral Council (CNE) this Monday to formalize the registration of his candidacy for the presidential elections scheduled for July 28.

Márquez, who was rector of the highest Venezuelan electoral body, will be the representative of the Centrados party, and he becomes part of the more than 10 candidates and no less than 40 political organizations that will participate in this electoral process where Venezuelans, with their vote, will elect the President of the Republic for the period 2025-2031.

Márquez has been a member of the Democratic Action (AD) and Un Nuevo Tiempo (UNT) party, and in the latter political organization he was one of the promoters of the candidacy of Manuel Rosales as the representative of opposition extremism for this process, without his proposal being successful.
