The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, arrived in the city of Malabo, capital of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, to fulfill diplomatic commitments to exchange experiences and good practices in the field of Human Rights and to draw up an agenda of cooperation with the African nation, within the framework of the Second Venezuela-Equatorial Guinea Joint Commission .
On this occasion, a meeting is planned between the heads of both ombudsmen's offices and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the execution of training projects in the field of human rights, between the institutions.
With the signing of this Memorandum, the Venezuelan Ombudsman's Office seeks to promote and promote educational programs, based on solidarity and experience gained in human rights issues in Venezuela.
Through this basic training proposal already implemented in Venezuela and other countries, the officials of the Venezuelan Ombudsman's Office will provide participants with conceptual elements of Human Rights and good practices, in order to strengthen the construction of an emancipatory, critical and alternative culture of human rights.
These programs are aimed at popular communities, institutions, schools, health centers, among other recipients in that African nation, to seek the strengthening of institutions and the general population for the exercise of surveillance, defense and promotion of their rights.
