The Houston Astros and second baseman José Altuve agreed to a five-year contract extension, so the Venezuelan will remain with the club until the 2029 season.

The announcement was made by the club itself through its social networks.

This will be the 13th season for Altuve in the big leagues, who has played his entire career with the Astros.

In MLB, the Venezuelan has an offensive line of .307/.364/.471, with 2,047 hits, 209 home runs, 747 RBIs, 293 stolen bases, .834 OPS and 129 OPS+ in 1,668 games.

In addition, he has a Most Valuable Player award (2017), six Silver Bats, three batting titles and two World Series rings.
