By the end of October, Margarita Island successfully completed a new shipment of 380 tons of dehydrated seaweed, destined for the markets of Chile, Spain, Tunisia and China, as well as frozen sardines and fish oil for Martinique, Ecuador and Peru.

This new shipment has positive results. For the January-October period of 2026, exports from the entity experienced an extraordinary growth of 76% compared to the same period in 2025, with more than 2,855 tons exported in 2026, while in 2025 there were 1,622 tons in the same period.

This progress represents the result of joint efforts between the ministries of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and for Foreign Affairs and International Trade; the Nueva Esparta Special Economic Zone (ZEENE), Bolivarian Ports, Neo-Spartan Government and local businessmen, who have designed a solid road map to boost commercial export activity.

The constant export of maritime products shows that Margarita Island is fully prepared to transform its economy, diversify its revenues and consolidate itself as a highly competitive international export reference, according to a press release.
