The process of nominating and registering candidates for communal judges and justices of the peace was extended until next Sunday, December 1, after the President of the Republic requested it from the commission responsible for this electoral event on December 15.

The Head of State pointed out that given the large number of candidates from the popular base of the Venezuelan people who currently exceed more than 15,400 registered, as well as the opportunity to take advantage of weekend days when the inhabitants of our communities carry out greater social exchange of various kinds, it is appropriate to extend the process.

During a new broadcast of Maduro Live de Repente, the head of state, together with the Minister of Communes, Ángel Prado, and the first vice-president of the National Assembly (AN), Pedro Infante, spoke about the nomination process that is going from strength to strength.

Prado reported that, to date, there have been 15,434 candidates duly registered as candidates to be judges of the peace, in an enthusiastic dynamic where those involved have expressed their desire to participate in this unprecedented popular election to preserve the coexistence, peace and tranquility of the Bolivarian Republic.

For his part, Pedro Infante added that social and popular movements have amply expressed their satisfaction with this process, and the inhabitants of the country's communes, community councils and even teachers are incorporated into these applications.
